A Journey to Experience

Hello fellow students of the hybrid English 105 class :)!!!!! Welcome and I hope you had a wonderful break. Starting this quarter you will encounter the readings of two books, "Everything's An Argument" and "The Little Brown Handbook." There are readings in the online detailed lectures and lessons on Blackboard provided by the professor. These can help guide you through the four assignments from the descriptions of the twenty lessons online. Journals would be needed for the readings and throughout the class you would be experiencing a different environment that may be challenging.

From the four assignments, the learning gained from the readings can be used to help develop and improve your writing. Many of the methods or classical arguments from the readings can be applied and used to help structure assignments like Assignment #2: The Ebonics Debate Paper. While working on the assignments, the professor explains we can get help by going to a tutor. The Writing Center has been providing students a guide to helping them improve in their writing skills, where like professor Barbara Gill-Mayberry mentions, "The Best Writing is Rewriting." Also, rewriting can help master your skills and learning can help improve throughout your writing.

Reading leads towards helping you out in applying any methods or using your learning towards the orals for the assignments, like the Ebonics Debate Paper. This will help with the analysis of your assignment as well. Besides these assignments, there will be discussion forums online that can help you improve your writing. Classmates will help critique or look if you have followed instructions provided by the instructor.

The process of the variety of work done in this class was very challenging for me and a different environment to explore. This process was difficult, but with the help of the professor, I was able understand and learn every step of the way. The process of the journals was very time consuming because you need to have time to read ahead and not get behind on the assignments, but I learned from the readings and was able to use it towards helping me with the assignments later on. When working on each assignment, I had a lot of questions for the professor because I wanted to make sure I was on the right track. The professor was very helpful in always being there when you needed help and guidance. She guided every student with what they needed help in to continue their work and learning throughout the process. When working on the assignments I learned a lot, especially that as we write, we write expressing ourselves in our own unique way. My writing has improved more than before and I hope it helps you fellow students, too.

The process of the research for the assignments was difficult because there were so many sources to choose from, but by narrowing it down and looking for the sources that will help out my paper became very helpful. The workshop provided in class taught me how to find relevant information for my topic or purpose of my claim or argument.

For the orals and analysis of our Assignments, like the Ebonics Debate Paper, was a challenging step, where the process took a lot of practice. I remember when the professor had mentioned to practice, practice, and practice. I was able to learn what I needed to talk about during my orals. I felt like I gained and improved myself throughout the quarter. I hope this is helpful for everyone. Try the best that you can and try to believe in yourself. The professor will help you out and I wish you good luck this year. :)!!!!!

I have provided my assignments for you to take a look at and I hope this is helpful !!!!!
